A Kiwi Christmas wreath made of pōhutukawa leaves and flower clusters and buds, with more detail for older kids. Print the PDF on card, colour it, cut out the middle and hang it on the door. The pōhutukawa (Metrosideros excelsa) is a native coastal tree whose crimson flowers bloom around Christmas, which is why it is called New Zealand's Christmas tree (Department of Conservation).

Printing tips

  • Choose A4 in the print dialog in New Zealand and Australia, and print at 100% so nothing is cut off.
  • Red, crimson and scarlet pencils for the poppies and pōhutukawa; leave the anthers yellow or gold.
  • Card stock makes the wreaths and ornament sturdy enough to cut out and hang.
