Times tables 2–12: learn and practise
Mixed review worksheets
How to use these pages
Each times table from 2 to 12 has two printables. The times table sheet shows the table to learn at the top, with a fold line to hide it, then three practice levels: ★ the facts in order, ★★ the same facts mixed up, and ★★★ missing numbers such as 7 × ☐ = 42. The worksheet is a mixed review: skip counting, twenty facts that mix the new table with the ones learned before it, missing numbers and a “circle the answers” puzzle.
Both have a full answer key on page 2 of the PDF, so children can check their own work or a parent can mark it in a minute.
A good order for learning the tables is 2, 10 and 5 first, then 3, 4 and 11, then 6, 9 and 12, and finally 7 and 8. Short daily practice works better than one long session: one level a day is plenty.
Frequently asked questions
What order should children learn the times tables in?
Most children find the 2, 5 and 10 times tables easiest, because the answers follow simple patterns. After that come 3, 4 and 11, then 6, 9 and 12, and last the 7 and 8 times tables. Each new table also reviews facts children already know: 7 × 3 is the same as 3 × 7.
How do I use the three levels?
Level ★ lists the facts in order, so children can count on. Level ★★ mixes them up, so they have to recall each fact. Level ★★★ hides one of the numbers being multiplied, which is the first step towards division.
Do the worksheets have answers?
Yes. Every times table sheet and worksheet PDF has its answer key on page 2.
What age are times tables worksheets for?
Children usually start the 2, 5 and 10 times tables at about age 6 or 7 and practise all the tables up to 12 × 12 between about 7 and 10. Older children and adults use them to brush up too.
Is there a PDF to print?
Yes. Every page has free PDF downloads for US Letter and A4 paper, with the picture centered inside print-safe margins. Choose "Download PDF (Letter)" or "Download PDF (A4)" on the page and print at 100% (actual size).
