Up nextNumber Line 0–20 →

Four 0–10 number lines with big, clear numbers, to cut into strips for desks, maths books or a counting game. Start with a finger on 0 and jump along: each jump is one more. Use it for counting on, adding small numbers, taking away and finding the number before or after.

Number line activities

  • Count on: start at a number and make jumps to the right. Count back: jump to the left.
  • Ask “which number is halfway between?” for two numbers on the 0 to 10 line.
  • Draw the jumps as little arcs above the line so the working shows.
  • Pick two numbers on the line and count the jumps between them: that is the difference.

More to print: the other number lines, ten frames for counting to 20, and the hundreds chart.
