Six words for practising joins up to tall letters: it, the, tell, hill, kite, little. The join swings up from the baseline to the top line for tall letters like l, h, k and b. Each line starts with the word in solid cursive. Trace the grey copies, joining every letter without lifting the pencil, then write the word on your own in the space at the end of the line. Two empty lines at the bottom are for writing your favourite words again.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% (actual size) so the guide lines stay the right height.
  • Tilt the paper slightly, the same way the letters slope, so writing feels natural.
  • Trace each model with a finger first, saying the strokes out loud, then use a pencil.
