About 3 in 10 of the products in this 1–10 chart are missing, spread across every row. Children use the times tables they know, and the patterns along each row and column, to fill in the gaps. With most answers showing, it is a gentle first step from reading a chart to recalling facts. The answer key, with the missing products shaded, is on page 2.

Using this times tables chart in maths

This chart covers the 10 × 10 grid, 100 facts in all, with 30 of them left blank. Some ways to use it:

  • 30 of the 100 products are missing. Count along a row in steps to find a gap: row 6 counts 6, 12, 18, 24…
  • Use the diagonal: the chart is the same on both sides, so a gap may already be answered across the diagonal.
  • Mark your work with the answer key on page 2.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% (actual size) so the squares keep their size; the PDFs are already set up for Letter and A4.
  • Slip a chart into a plastic sleeve and use a dry-erase marker to circle facts, then wipe it clean.
  • Choose the black and white chart to save colour ink; it uses no grey fills.
