Four Valentine's bookmarks on one page, each with a word in bubble letters (“love”, “xoxo”, “hugs”, “be mine”) and pictures to colour. Printed at 100% each bookmark is 4.2 × 20.1 cm on A4 (1½ × 7½ in on US Letter). Colour them, cut them out, punch the hole and tie on a ribbon or a piece of wool.

How to make the bookmarks

  1. Print the page at 100% on card or thick paper (160–200 gsm, or 65–110 lb cover stock) so the bookmarks are stiff; plain paper works too.
  2. Colour the words and pictures with pencils, crayons or felt tips. Felt tips can show through thin paper, so colour on a scrap sheet.
  3. Cut round each bookmark along its outline.
  4. Punch the small circle with a hole punch and tie on a ribbon, a piece of wool or a tassel.

Printing tips

  • Print at 100% (actual size) so the shapes match the sizes listed.
  • Thin card (160–200 gsm) makes sturdy stencils and decorations.
  • Fold the paper and cut two layers at once for matching pairs.
  • Paper snowflakes are the exception: use thin printer or origami paper, because every cut goes through 12 layers.
