Every division fact is a times table fact backwards: learn or check the table first with the times tables worksheets, and keep a 1–12 multiplication chart nearby.
How to use these pages
Every division fact comes from a times table fact read backwards. 4 × 7 = 28, so 28 ÷ 4 = 7 and 28 ÷ 7 = 4. That is why each sheet here is matched to one times table: the dividing by 7 sheet uses every answer in the 7 times table, from 7 ÷ 7 = 1 up to 84 ÷ 7 = 12.
Each sheet starts with the twelve division facts for its number in a box you can fold back out of sight. Then come three practice levels: ★ the facts in order, ★★ the same facts mixed up, and ★★★ missing numbers, such as ☐ ÷ 7 = 6 or 42 ÷ ☐ = 6. The mixed review covers dividing by 2 to 12 on one page. Every PDF has the answer key on page 2.
A good order follows the times tables: dividing by 1, 2, 5 and 10 first, then 3, 4 and 11, then 6, 9 and 12, and finally 7 and 8. Children who are still unsure of a times table will find the matching division sheet much easier once the table itself is secure.
Frequently asked questions
How do you teach division facts?
Start from multiplication. For 35 ÷ 5, ask “5 times what makes 35?” and count up the 5 times table: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35. That is seven fives, so 35 ÷ 5 = 7. With practice the fact is remembered instead of counted.
What are division facts?
Division facts are the divisions that undo the times tables up to 12 × 12, such as 56 ÷ 8 = 7 or 144 ÷ 12 = 12. Knowing them by heart makes long division, fractions and mental maths much quicker.
Do the worksheets have answers?
Yes. Page 2 of every PDF is the answer key, and on screen the “Show solution” button shows the answers.
What age are division worksheets for?
Most children meet division facts at about age 7 or 8 (second or third grade, Year 3 or 4), once they know several times tables, and practise them up to about age 10 or 11.
Is there a PDF to print?
Yes. Every page has free PDF downloads for US Letter and A4 paper, with the picture centered inside print-safe margins. Choose "Download PDF (Letter)" or "Download PDF (A4)" on the page and print at 100% (actual size).
