A kiwi with its long beak and strong legs on the forest floor at night, among tree ferns. The kiwi is a flightless native bird that feeds at night and is New Zealand's best-known national symbol (Department of Conservation). We draw birds, plants and landscapes, not Māori designs, and use macrons as the Māori Language Commission recommends. Tap a colour, then tap any shape to fill it, or print the free A4 or Letter PDF.

Printing tips

  • Choose A4 in the print dialog in New Zealand and Australia, and print at 100% so nothing is cut off.
  • Red, crimson and scarlet pencils for the poppies and pōhutukawa; leave the anthers yellow or gold.
  • Card stock makes the wreaths and ornament sturdy enough to cut out and hang.
