Christmas printables for teachers and parents

Every Christmas printable on Colouring Nest in one place, sorted by what you are planning: a classroom party, a quiet-time pack, an advent countdown, a family activity day or a care-home session. All 135 pages are free to print on A4 or US Letter. In New Zealand and Australia school ends in mid-December, so print class sets in the first week of December; in the US and UK most schools finish around 18 December.

Plan by occasion

Classroom Christmas party

Plan about four sheets per child for a one-hour party. Picture bingo is the main event (24 different cards, so print the set twice and let pairs share for a class of 30). Children colour and wear a paper crown, work through the classroom scavenger hunt in pairs, and a memory game keeps an early-finisher table busy. Everything is paper only, so nobody is left out by food rules.

Quiet-time pack

For the last afternoons of term, a wet lunchtime or the car trip to Christmas lunch: staple four to six sheets into a booklet with a pencil tucked in. Mix one I spy, one word search, one colour by number and one mandala, so there is something to finish quickly and something to take time over. The puzzles have answer keys on page 2 of each PDF.

Advent countdown

Put the paper chain up on 1 December: 24 numbered strips, and a child tears one off each day until Christmas Eve. The activity chain has a small job on each strip (make a paper snowflake, write a letter to Santa, sing a Christmas song). Add a letter to Santa or a wish list early in the month, while there is still time to post it.

Family activity day

A slow day at home in the holidays: placemats at lunch so the table is the activity, a Christmas lights scavenger hunt on an evening walk, paper snowflakes for the windows and a card for each grandparent. Older children and grown-ups can take the snowflake templates marked hard.

Care homes and seniors

Large-print word bingo works as a group session with a caller, and the large-print word search, bold and easy pages and big snowflake mandalas suit residents who colour on their own. Print on thicker paper at 100% scale and keep a few finished pages to decorate the lounge. Our care-home guide has ideas by ability, including for people living with dementia.

Questions

Are these Christmas printables free?

Yes. Every page in the plans and the type list is free to print for home, classroom and care-home use, with a US Letter and an A4 PDF and no sign-up. The packs and bundles further down are optional.

When does the school term end before Christmas?

New Zealand schools close no later than Friday 18 December 2026, and Australian schools finish in mid-December, on dates set by each state. In the US and UK most schools finish around Friday 18 December, with the holidays starting on 19–20 December. Print class sets a week before your last day.

How many printables do I need for a class party?

About four sheets per child for an hour: a bingo card, a crown, a scavenger hunt shared in pairs and one colouring or puzzle sheet for early finishers. Picture bingo has 24 different cards, so for 30 children print the set twice or let pairs share.

Do you have summer Christmas pages for New Zealand and Australia?

Yes. The summer Christmas colouring pages have beaches, pōhutukawa and barbecues, and there is a summer Christmas word search and a summer holidays countdown chain.

Which Christmas bundle suits a teacher?

The Christmas Classroom Bundle: the Christmas activity pages, 26 cards to colour and the winter and New Year pack for the first week back. Each pack’s personal licence covers printing for your own class.
