Nine blank clocks, each with a time above it in words and in figures, such as “five o’clock” and 5:00. Children draw the short hour hand and the long minute hand to show each time. At o’clock the long minute hand points straight up to 12 and the short hour hand points to the hour.

How to do this worksheet

  • Read the time and find the hour on the clock.
  • Draw the long minute hand first, from the dot to the right minute mark.
  • Then draw the short hour hand. After the o’clock level it sits part of the way towards the next number, not on the hour itself.
The nine times on this sheet
  • 5:00 (five o’clock)
  • 8:00 (eight o’clock)
  • 4:00 (four o’clock)
  • 12:00 (twelve o’clock)
  • 3:00 (three o’clock)
  • 10:00 (ten o’clock)
  • 1:00 (one o’clock)
  • 9:00 (nine o’clock)
  • 11:00 (eleven o’clock)

At o’clock the long minute hand points straight up to 12 and the short hour hand points to the hour. The answer key is page 2 of the PDF.

  • Print the clock face on card stock and slip it into a plastic sleeve to use with a dry-erase marker again and again.
  • Keep the make-your-own clock beside the worksheets so children can set each time before writing it.
