How to play

Find a word from the list in the grid.
Tap its first letter, then its last letter. Or drag across it with a finger or mouse.
With a keyboard: the arrow keys move, Enter or Space marks the first and the last letter, Escape cancels.
Found words are struck off the list. Find all twelve to solve the puzzle.

Questions

Why no backwards words?

Backwards and upside-down words mostly make a puzzle slower, not more interesting. Our daily one is meant to be a pleasant ten minutes; for a challenge, try the hard puzzles on our word search pages.

Can I get it in large print?

Yes. On screen, press “Larger text”. The printable PDF puts the grid across most of the page with letters about 1 cm tall.

When do the puzzles change?

At midnight where you are. The page uses the date on your own device, so everyone gets the same puzzle on the same calendar day, wherever they live.

Do I need an account?

No. Your times, solved puzzles and streaks are kept in your browser on this device only. Nothing about your answers is sent to us. If you clear your browser data, they start again.

How does the streak work?

Solve a game on the day it comes out without pressing “Show answers” and your streak for that game goes up by one. Miss a day and it starts again. Past puzzles from the archive are there to enjoy but don’t change your streak.
