Advent Calendar for Kids: a Free Activity Every Day

Open one door a day from 1 to 24 December. Behind each door is something new to do: a colouring page, a puzzle or a paper craft. Colour it on the screen or print it, then come back tomorrow for the next one.

The calendar

The doors need JavaScript to open. You can still print the advent calendar poster (A4) or (US Letter) and colour a door each day.

Print the advent calendar poster

Print the poster with all 24 doors and colour one door each morning, from door 1 on 1 December to door 24 on Christmas Eve. It works on its own, too: no screen needed.

Questions

When does each door open?

At midnight on its day, wherever you are: door 1 on 1 December, door 2 on 2 December and so on up to door 24 on Christmas Eve. The page uses the date on your own device. Doors you have already opened stay open, so you can go back to any of them.

What is behind the doors?

8 colouring pages, 13 puzzles (word scrambles, a mini crossword, word searches, I spy, colour by number, dot to dot and mazes) and 3 paper crafts. Every one is new for this calendar, made by Colouring Nest, and you can colour it on the screen or print it.

Can I print the whole calendar now?

Yes. Print the poster with 24 numbered doors (A4 or US Letter) any time, stick it on the fridge and colour one door each day in December.

Does it cost anything or need an account?

No. Every door is free and there is nothing to sign up for. The doors you open are remembered in this browser only; nothing about you is sent to us.

Is it a religious advent calendar?

No. The doors are about winter and a family Christmas: snowmen, trees, presents, baking and being kind. There are no nativity scenes, so every family and classroom can use it.

Want pictures to colour right now? The free advent colouring book has 24 numbered Christmas colouring pages, one for each day, in one PDF (A4 or US Letter). They are different from the doors, so the doors stay a surprise.
