Eight boxes, each with a little picture and a writing line: favorite food, animal, color, book, toy or game, place, song and sport. Younger children draw in the box and an adult writes the word on the line; older children draw and write it themselves. It pairs with the all about me sheets as a second page for the first week back.

How to use this sheet

  • Read each sentence together first, then let children finish it with a word or a drawing.
  • Fill one in about yourself and show it first: children love finding out about their teacher.
  • Pin the finished sheets up in a “meet the class” display, or keep them to compare with an end-of-year page.

This is the US version: it says Grade, color and favorite. The New Zealand and Australia version says Year, colour and favourite.

Use on your class or library site

Paste this into your school, class or library web page. It shows the picture and a link back here, so families can print it themselves. You can change the wording.
