Two pages in one PDF: “Me at the start of the year” and “Me at the end of the year”, with the same prompts so they compare side by side. On each, children write their first name between handwriting lines, their age, Grade and height in inches, draw around their hand in a box that prints 17 × 12 cm on A4 (6½ × 4½ in on US Letter), and finish two sentences about what they can do and what they want to learn, or have learned.

How to use the pair
- Print both pages at 100% (actual size). Fill in page 1 in the first weeks of school and keep it in a folder or the child’s book.
- Measure height against a wall with a tape measure, shoes off, and write it in inches.
- For the hand, spread the fingers a little and draw around them with a pencil. Hands bigger than the box can go in at an angle.
- In the last weeks of the year, fill in page 2 the same way and put the two pages side by side.
This is the US version: it says Grade, color and favorite. The New Zealand and Australia version says Year, colour and favourite.
