How to play

Each row, each column and each 3 × 3 box must hold the numbers 1 to 9 once.
Pick a square and type a number, or use the number buttons under the grid. Erase clears a square.
The squares in the same row, column and box are shaded, and the same number is highlighted, to help you spot gaps.
Press Check to mark mistakes in red. Fill the grid correctly to solve it.

Questions

What is the difference between easy, medium and hard?

Easy puzzles start with 36 to 40 numbers and medium with 29 to 32; both can be finished by looking for the only place a number can go. Hard puzzles start with 24 to 28 and need techniques such as pairs and pointing numbers, but never a guess.

Can I print all three?

Yes. Choose a level, then download the PDF (US Letter or A4). Tick “Include the answer key” for a second page with the solution.

When do the puzzles change?

At midnight where you are. The page uses the date on your own device, so everyone gets the same puzzle on the same calendar day, wherever they live.

Do I need an account?

No. Your times, solved puzzles and streaks are kept in your browser on this device only. Nothing about your answers is sent to us. If you clear your browser data, they start again.

How does the streak work?

Solve a game on the day it comes out without pressing “Show answers” and your streak for that game goes up by one. Miss a day and it starts again. Past puzzles from the archive are there to enjoy but don’t change your streak.
