About Presidents' Day

Presidents' Day is a US federal holiday on the third Monday in February. Its official name is Washington's Birthday, after George Washington, the first president, who was born on 22 February 1732. Many people also use the day to remember Abraham Lincoln, born on 12 February 1809, and every other president.

We draw symbols and places rather than people: the White House where the president lives and works, the Liberty Bell, the log cabin where Lincoln was born, the cherry tree from the famous Washington story, a tall top hat and the flag. The card, the top hat and the flag have the biggest shapes for young children; the hard star mandala is for older kids and adults.
