Free printable Lunar New Year color by number pages (colour by number in New Zealand and Australia) for 6 February 2027, the start of the Year of the Goat: a goat between two lanterns, a string of paper lanterns, a bamboo steamer of dumplings, red envelopes with a plate of mandarin oranges, a folding paper fan and fireworks over a row of lanterns. How to use these pages

Each space in the picture has a number, and the key under the picture says which colour goes with it. Colour every space and the Lunar New Year picture appears. The red envelopes, dumplings and paper fan have big spaces and suit ages 4 to 7; the Year of the Goat page, with rays of light behind the goat and two lanterns, suits ages 6 to 9.

Red and gold are the colours most families use for Lunar New Year decorations, so most of the pictures lean on red, orange and yellow. Every PDF has the page three ways: a colour swatch key, a “3 = red” word key and a number-word key, plus the finished picture as an answer key.

The color by code pages turn the same pictures into maths practice: sums within 10 or 20, subtraction and the 5 times table, each answer a colour in the key. For pictures to colour freely, see the Lunar New Year colouring pages; for word searches and a lantern craft, the Lunar New Year activity sheets.
