Eight short Christmas stories to read and solve, about baubles, presents, paper stars, cookies for Santa, candy canes and reindeer. Half of them add and half take away, all within 20, and the words in each story tell children which to do: “more” and “in all” mean add, “left” and “still” mean take away. Each story has a little picture and a box for the answer. Read them aloud with children who are still learning to read.
