Ten strips of eight numbers, one strip from each ten between 1 and 100, with three numbers missing in each. Every strip crosses into the next ten (38, 39, then 40, 41), which is where most children get stuck when counting to 100. Fill in the gaps by counting on from the number before. For the whole chart at once, use the hundreds chart with missing numbers. Page 2 is the answer key.

Tips for this counting worksheet

  • Read the strip out loud, saying the missing numbers too.
  • Watch the tens: after 39 comes 40, after 79 comes 80.
  • Check with a hundreds chart if you are unsure.

Page 2 of the PDF is the answer key. The ten frames and number 1 to 20 coloring pages practise the same counting. When this sheet feels easy, move on to the skip counting by 10s and odd or even pictures worksheets. See all counting worksheets.
