Five squares to the inch suits science and engineering graphs, where each inch splits into tenths of two squares, and scale drawings at 1 square = 1 foot. Printing tips

  • Print at 100% or "Actual size". "Fit to page" shrinks the sheet by a few percent and the squares stop being exact.
  • Measure the check bar at the top of the sheet with a ruler: if it is 5 cm (or 2 in), every square is the stated size.
  • Use the A4 PDF on A4 paper and the Letter PDF on Letter paper; both are drawn to the same exact sizes.
