Sixteen feelings cards with simple faces we drew ourselves and a word on each: happy, sad, angry, scared, surprised, worried, excited, calm, tired, proud, silly, shy, frustrated, bored, confused and loved. On the back is an “I feel … when…” sentence starter and a gentle prompt, such as “Who could you tell?” for sad or “Try 5 slow breaths.” for angry. Use them to name feelings at home, in a morning check-in at school, or to talk through a hard moment once everyone is calm.

How to print and use these cards

The PDF has 4 pages: 2 sheets of 9 card fronts, each followed by its backs. Print double-sided and flip on the long edge, or glue each back page to its front before cutting. Then cut on the dashed lines.

Ways to play

  • Each morning, ask the child to pick the card that matches how they feel, and finish the sentence on the back.
  • Act out a card for others to guess, then talk about a time you felt that way.
  • After a story, ask which card the character might choose, and why.

Printing tips

  • Print one sheet double-sided first to check how your printer lines up the backs.
  • Keep each set in an envelope or a zip bag, and write the set’s name on it.
  • Mix in two or three cards a child already knows, so every practice starts with a win.
