Sixteen nouns in word bubbles: eight common nouns (day, month, state, girl, country, boy, city, dog) and their eight proper nouns (Monday, July, Texas, Maya, Canada, Ben, Paris and Rex the dog). Children write each one in the right box. The pairs make the idea clear: a common noun is any day, a proper noun is one special day, and it always starts with a capital letter. Page 2 is the answer key.
