Twelve nouns, six that take s (cat, hat, kite, book, frog, pencil) and six that take es (box, dish, bus, fox, bench, glass). The rule is in a box at the top: add es to words that end in s, x, z, ch or sh, and add s to most other words. Children circle the ending first, then write the whole plural, so they check the last letters every time. Say the plurals aloud: es adds a beat. Page 2 is the answer key.
