Six number bonds where the whole is always 5. One part is written in, and the other circle is empty. Under each bond is a row of five dots: children cross out the part they know and count the dots that are left, which is the missing part. Every split of 5 is on the sheet, from 5 and 0 to 0 and 5. Answers on page 2.

Number bond games and tips
- Say each bond out loud as you write it: “3 and 2 make 5”.
- Use counters in two colours: put the whole on a ten frame, then turn some over. The two colours are the two parts.
- Play “hide the part”: put some counters under a cup and ask how many are hiding.
- Once the sheet feels easy, cover the given part too and ask for both: how many different bonds can you find?
More number sense: ten frames, the more than, less than worksheets and the addition colour by code pages. Every sheet in this set is on the number bonds worksheets page.
