Eight picture sums for kindergarten. Each row has a group of circles and a group of squares laid out in rows of five, like a ten frame, so children can see 5 and some more without counting one by one. They count each group, write both numbers and the total in the three boxes, and read the number sentence aloud. Every total is 10 or less.

Tips for this worksheet
- Point to each shape as you count it, or colour it in once it is counted.
- Count the full row of five as “five”, then count on from there.
- Read each finished sentence aloud: “9 and 1 make 10”.
Every answer is a whole number from 0 to 10, and subtraction never goes below zero. When this sheet feels easy, move on to the within 20 sheets on the addition and subtraction worksheets page.
