A picture of a house, a tree, the sun, clouds, a pond and a kite, built only from six shapes. The key at the top gives each shape a color: circles yellow, squares red, triangles green, rectangles brown, ovals blue and the rhombus orange. Children find every shape of one kind and color it, which means looking at each part closely: the roof and both parts of the tree are triangles, and the windows are circles. Page 2 shows the finished picture.

Tips for this shapes coloring page

  • Color one shape at a time: all the triangles first, then all the circles.
  • Count how many of each shape there are before you start.
  • Tick each color in the key when that shape is done.

Page 2 of the PDF is the finished picture in color. For first shapes, the shape flash cards have the name and sides on the back. When this sheet feels easy, move on to the name the shapes worksheet and the 2D and 3D shapes worksheet. See all shapes worksheets.
