Christmas trivia quiz tips and strategy

    • Playing as a family? Choose “Family mix”: the questions take turns between easy ones for the children and harder ones for the grown-ups.
    • Read every answer before you tap: two can look right, but only one is.
    • For a party, put the quiz on the TV and let teams call out their answer before anyone taps.
    • Each fact after a question is worth remembering: some of them come back as questions in the other quizzes.

For a quiz night or the office party on paper, print our Christmas trivia questions and answers: trivia for adults, a family Christmas quiz, a true or false quiz and Christmas around the world, each with an answer key.

    Questions

Is there a Christmas quiz for kids?

Yes. Choose “Kids (ages 6 to 10)” for 25 easy questions about Santa, reindeer, snow, carols and Christmas around the world. Younger children can play with a grown-up reading the questions out, and the “Larger print” button makes the answers bigger.

Are there Christmas trivia questions for adults?

Yes. “Grown-ups (harder)” has 30 questions on carols, Christmas history and traditions: where Silent Night was first sung, how many gifts are in The Twelve Days of Christmas, who wrote Joy to the World. “Family mix” takes turns between kids and grown-up questions.

    Are the answers included?

Yes. After each question the quiz shows the right answer and a short fact. For a printable quiz with an answer key, use our Christmas trivia printables, with a family quiz, a true or false quiz, Christmas around the world and a British Christmas quiz.

How do we play as a group or a team?

Put the quiz on a TV or laptop, split into teams, and let each team call out its answer before you tap it. Choose 15 questions for a longer round. “Today’s quiz” gives everyone the same questions, so two households on a video call can play the same one.

    How were the questions checked?

Each question is a well-documented fact, and where something is disputed (such as which country had the first Christmas tree) the fact says so. There are no questions about films, brands or modern songs, so the quiz works in any country and doesn’t date.

Is it free? Do I need to sign up or download anything?

It is free and plays in your web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download and no account. Your stats are kept in this browser only. A few adverts on the page, kept well away from the game, pay for the site.
