Yukon Solitaire: Free Online, Large Cards, No Sign-Up
Yukon solitaire is a close cousin of Klondike with no stock to turn: all 52 cards are dealt into seven columns, and you may move any face-up card together with every card on top of it, even when they are not in order. Ours is free, plays in your browser with no download or sign-up, and has large, clear cards with a “Larger print” button for even bigger ones. There are 366 numbered deals and a new deal of the day; our solver program has won every one, so every game here can be won. Undo and Hint are unlimited and there is no time limit.

How to play
- Build four foundations, one per suit, from Ace up to King, in the spaces at the top right. Safe cards go up on their own.
- In the seven columns, put a card on one that is one higher and the other colour: a red 6 on a black 7.
- Any face-up card can move, and every card on top of it moves with it, in order or not. That is the big difference from Klondike.
- Only a King (with any cards on it) can go into an empty column. When the last face-up card leaves a column, the face-down card under it turns over.
- There is no stock: every card is on the table from the start. Win by getting all 52 cards up to the foundations.
- Tap a card to pick it up with the cards on it, then tap where it should go. Tap it again, or double-click it, to send it to the best place. You can also drag.
- Keyboard: arrow keys move between the piles, Enter picks up the bottom card (Up arrow adds the cards above it), Enter on another pile puts it there, Enter twice sends it to the best place, U undoes, Escape cancels.
Who it’s for: Grown-ups and seniors who know Klondike and want a game with more choice and less luck. Sound is off unless you turn it on, there is no time limit, and “Pause” stops the clock.

Yukon solitaire tips and strategy
- Turn over the face-down cards first: the right-hand columns hide the most (up to six), and every card you free gives you more choices.
- You can move any face-up card with what is on it, so look under the top of each column: the card you need to move is often in the middle, not at the bottom.
- Before moving a group, check where its top card lands and what the move uncovers. A move that turns over a face-down card is almost always worth more than one that only tidies a column.
- Save empty columns for Kings that are sitting on face-down cards. A King already at the top of a column has nowhere better to go.
- Don’t rush cards to the foundations if a column still needs them as a place to build, but Aces and 2s are always safe to put up.
- Undo is unlimited: when two moves look equally good, try one, and undo if it leads nowhere.

Questions
Can every game of Yukon be won?
Every deal we offer can. Not every Yukon deal can be won, so our solver program played thousands of deals and we only use the 366 it won. Each has a number, so you can replay one or share it with a friend. If you get stuck, Undo is unlimited.
How is Yukon different from Klondike?
The deal is the same shape (seven columns), but Yukon has no stock: the cards that would be in the stock are dealt face up onto the columns. And you can move a group of face-up cards even when they are not in order, as long as the card at the top of the group fits where it goes. That makes Yukon more about planning and less about luck. Try Klondike solitaire to compare.
What can go in an empty column?
Only a King, together with any cards on top of it. Use empty columns to unpack a column with many face-down cards.
Is Yukon solitaire good for seniors?
It was made with seniors in mind: big card numbers and suits, a “Larger print” button for even bigger cards, no time limit (the clock is only for your own record), unlimited undo, hints, a pause button and no pop-ups. Sound is off unless you turn it on.
Is it free? Do I need to sign up or download anything?
It is free and plays in your web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download and no account. Your stats are kept in this browser only. A few adverts on the page, kept well away from the game, pay for the site.
Does it work on a tablet or phone?
Yes. Tap or drag with a finger on a tablet or phone, or use a mouse. It also plays with the keyboard alone (see “How to play”). Turn a phone sideways for more room.
