Pick one of 7 Christmas themes (Christmas, Santa’s Workshop, Christmas Eve, Christmas Baking, Nativity, Winter and Summer Christmas) and a size: Large print 9 × 9 with big letters and words across and down only, Easy 10 × 10 for kids, Medium 13 × 13 with diagonals, or Hard 16 × 16 with words in all eight directions for adults. How to play christmas word search

  1. Pick a theme (or play today’s puzzle) and a size. The words to find are listed next to the grid.
  2. Find a word in the grid. Drag your finger or mouse from its first letter to its last letter, or tap the first letter and then the last.
  3. A found word stays coloured in the grid and is crossed off the list. Find every word to win.
  4. Words go across and down in Large print and Easy, also diagonally in Medium, and in all eight directions (backwards too) in Hard. Each word is hidden exactly once.
  5. Stuck? “Hint” rings the first letter of a word you have not found yet.
  6. Keyboard: arrow keys move around the grid, Enter or Space marks the first letter and then the last letter, Escape cancels, H gives a hint.

    Christmas word search tips and strategy

    • Start with the longest word on the list (NORTH POLE, GINGERBREAD): long words are the easiest to spot.
    • Look for double letters like the LL in BELLS or the EE in REINDEER: they jump out of the grid.
    • Words with spaces (CANDY CANE) are hidden without the space.
    • Stuck on the last word? Press Hint to ring its first letter, then try each direction from there.
